“30 Years Later: Remembering the Barrie Tornado”

Catherine was working as a reporter for the Barrie Banner on May 31, 1985. She had picked up her weekend assignments and was on her way home when the tornado hit; despite her injuries she grabbed her camera and began shooting the devastation, ultimately resulting in several award-winning photos. Days later, she realized how badly she’d been hurt. She still has no memory of being taken to and being treated at the hospital.
